More on Golden Compass Movie
Okay, I knew that Nicole Kidman was going to be in the first movie of the "His Dark Materials" series as, oh, what's her name.....she's playing the mean bitchy mother (see? she's so evil I've blocked out her name!). But did someone know that Daniel Craig will be playing her opposite as Lord Asriel???? It seems he's hit the big leagues now. I just saw Casino Royale and, um, wow. I look forward to seeing more of him.

I am not a huge fan of 'His Dark Materials' series, but it grows on me every time I read it. I am very much looking forward to the movie.
I have to say, I am really impressed with the casting as well. I thought Nicole Kidman was a great choice for Mrs. Coulter, and I like Daniel Craig as Lord Asrael and Eva Green as Serafina Pekkala (now appearing as Craig's love interest in the new Bond film). However, the best seems to be the casting of Dakota Blue Richards as Lyra. I don't know about the rest of you, but this is exactly how I would have pictured Lyra to look. If they suit the parts in acting as well as they do in looks, this will be an incredible picture.

Yes, and in real life so is Nicole Kidman!
Nicole Kidman is perfect as Mrs. Coulter... Beautiful but vaguely sinister. Except I thought she was a brunette in the book?? Although I've always pictured her as a blonde... And Daniel Craig as Lord Asriel is a good choice too. I haven't seen Casino Royale yet... I thought I'd never get used to a blonde Bond, but he's growing on me :)

Well, I just saw a quote on a blog that said she "was young and beautiful and had sleek, black hair" ????
I think ypk and I must have got her mixed up with the monkey ;)
